Portland State University
The Children's Center provides a nurturing and enriching full time program for children ages one to nine years of age; with a minimum four-hour consecutive block twice a week required.

The Center's staff is committed to providing a secure and loving environment, that supports each child's growth, development, and self worth. We maintain a 1:10 teacher - child ratio in our pre-school class and 1:4 teacher - child ratio in our toddler class; in compliance with state standards. This allows us to spend quality time with your child, developing closer bonds of care, trust and respect.

We create an open environment in which each child is free to make choices, explore, and experiment. We believe that play is the child's way of learning. Children learn through active exploration in an environment rich in material and the opportunities to engage socially.

Diversity in race and ethnicity, culture, physical appearance and ability, family composition, and lifestyle are well respected and celebrated in our program. Our goal is to have every person feel welcomed and supported in this place for families.
